December 10, 2012: Are you a Stop-n-Go Disciple?

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
You have to realize that you’re going to follow somebody or something. We often say that we are Christians (disciples), but that’s on Sunday mornings from 9 AM to 2 PM., but do we continue in his ways Monday through Saturday?
Do we choose to follow Him the remainder of the week or will it be the denomination, the bishop, the spouse, the sport, the habit or worst yet the sin? I guess it’s all sinful if you are following someone or something other than Jesus Christ. How effective is your witness to those around you if you half-heartedly walk in the light of God’s word? I am sure your “light” meter reads “dim” to say the least if you’re not willing to be a disciplined follower.
We have to continue in the ways of the Lord if we want to live a holy and spiritually prosperous life. Matthew 6:24a Says No man can serve 2 Masters ….. Now who do you chose to follow? Let’s continue along the straight and narrow way consistently and I know others will follow if we do what is expected of us.
God said it in His word, I believe it, and that settles it
