Psalms 51:1-19 (KJV)
1 have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Empty My Suitcase
When we look at our lives in view of what we carry around many times we are laden with guilt (an awareness of having done wrong or committed a crime accompanied by feelings of shame and regret), shame (a negative emotion that combines feelings of dishonor, unworthiness), and embarrassment), then we carry them around in a suitcase called Burdens.
I’m here to let you know that Father God wants those burdens and He wants you to throw away that suitcase. So my friends let’s empty your suitcase and cast your burdens on the Lord Jesus.
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) – “Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.” In casting all your cares that’s personal cares, family cares, present cares as well as future ones, cares for yourself, your children, your church, everyone’s cares on the Lord

The heavy burden of guilt is overwhelming. Many times we walk through life carrying baggage from the past – things we feel guilty about, sins from previous relationships, difficulties from the dating years, things we’ve stolen, the thought of who we stole from, or even transgressions from a previous marriage. This suitcase full of all our wrongs is weighing us down. The memories from stealing drugs from the old lady next door, the money I stole from Mama’s purse, the baby I aborted cause I didn’t love it’s daddy, the way our marriage ended, because I just didn’t want to be married anymore. This suitcase full of all our wrongs is weighing us down.

Some of us may have grown up in homes where parents reminded us of that suitcase. They use guilt as a behavior motivator – as a way to control their child. That child becomes an adult and arrives at the marriage altar lugging that heavy load.

God holds the answer the freedom of you being relieved of that suitcase. It’s in the name Jesus. Verse 7, Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. You see God has given you the answer to opening the suitcase, the problem now is you hold the key. Will you, with open hands give Him the key so He can open it up and empty it out? Let Him empty your suitcase today. He doesn’t want us walking bent over, trying to live life carrying all that guilt. It is His desire to take if from each of us. Let Him free you today. The Holy Spirit is in you. You are saved. The enemy of your soul is the one telling you to keep your past before you. Stop listening to him and, call on Jesus to help you now.
Say to our Father what verses 10-12 says, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. “11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”

Each one of us must decide whether to let God open our “suitcase” by giving Him the keys. Once we do that then confess each incident to him. Saying Father I did wrong here, please forgive me and cleanse my mind of this. For the battlefield is in the mind, many times.
Father God, will take that guilt and shame, and will restore to you the joy of thy salvation; and uphold you with His free spirit. You have already been forgiven, now you are free in mind and spirit.

Now open your mouth and sing forth God’s praise as King David did in verse 15 (O Lord, open my lips and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.) Hallelujah;
I am free, praise the Lord I’m free. No more dark cloud, no more chains holding me.
My soul is resting, it’s just a blessing, Praise the Lord, hallelujah I’m Free.
